Roger Foodbelly on Facebook

Humbug.

We've noticed there are still people visiting this blog, so we need to tell you something.

No, the project isn't dead.

Yes, the blog is.. kind of.. dead.
But fear not! We've relocated our official Roger Foodbelly news to Facebook's Pages. Why limit ourselves to Facebook? Well, why not? Let me quote their statistics:
Facebook has more than 250 million active users, and more than 120 million users log on to Facebook at least once each day.
Also, it's a lot more easier to communicate with fans this way. Right after we publish some news there, it appears in every news feed of those who has added theirselves as a fan.

But hey, we're still aware of you who are skeptical to Facebook. What about you?
I'll tell you so much, that even if you miss developer chats and so on, we will still tell you in this blog - when the demo and the game is out.

Don't you worry.

Actually, so far we've released two 3D models and today - the 3rd December we have released music, actually. So if you are interested in hearing one of the old tunes, drop in - say hello and become an official fan!

How to do that, can be found in the previous post.

Got facebook? Then I present to you: our advent calendar!

Dear fans.
In November Facebook launched something called Pages, where you can become a fan of certain products and people. So I created a own Page for Roger Foodbelly, where you can become an official fan. Why this? I hear you ask. Well, it's a new way for us to reach our fans on a regular basis (more often than this blog!), and get a nice overview of all the fans the game might have gotten.

So 1st December I launched an advent calendar (one of many treats you get by becoming an official fan), where you can find a new surprise every day - all the way up to Christmas Eve! All things that gets published in there, will stay there.

I hope you will join in - so we'll be seeing you there!

Edit: forgot the link

and instructions:
When you have clicked on the link above, you need to click 'Become a fan' on the right. Then it's up to you, where to go next ;)

Going 3D? GOSH!

Better post something late than never, eh? These post few months, we've been having a great summer. But tomorrow the full development will start.

Why the delay? I hear you ask. We was short-handed with 2D animators. Actually, we were down to zero. Then our background leader, Atle Mæland, told me he knew a lot of talented 3D animators and asked me if we were about to switch style. Like Bill Tiller did with his game 'A Vampire Story'.

So now on Monday, we'll be starting with the character's skeleton, probably in Maya or something. Actually, characters in 3D has been in the back of the head for a long time. I'll see if I can find the old 3D models lying around my hard drive to post them here! That should calm you down for a while.

And now like always, feel free to comment. They're always welcome, and they will always be read by the team.

Now, I promise you that we'll get the next post out a little sooner. With stuff to show!

We'll leak!?

I have thought a little about sharing the alpha (?) and the beta when it's finished, to a small group of people. If so, those will act like testers does, and has to sign an agreement before getting the download link. Each version will get a water stamp on it, so I hope it wouldn't get leaked if we decide to do this.

Those who finds the most errors, bugs, and such, will most likely get to test the next episode as well.

What do you think of this? Is this a fine (and unique) idea? The sign-up won't happen yet, though, and it most likely won't happen before four weeks before the game is about to be finished. The alpha will most likely be finished a months in advance, so why not get a chance of playing the early version of the game?

I was thinking about doing this public, as there are more interest among some of you, instead of having some who have never heard about the game to test it. Let us hear your opinions!

First time covered!

To my biggest surprise when I googled Roger Foodbelly as usual, something new came up. It seems like the russians are keeping a good eye on Roger Foodbelly actually, to my surprise. And boy, they knew much about us already.

Too bad they've put the Norwegian version of the Christmas card up on the site, but whatever works best :)

So if you're Russian speaking, then go ahead and read! Or use babel fish!
I'm impressed anyhow :)
